2026 Bodysurfing World Tour Finals
South West Coast, France
September – October 2026

The IBSA Bodysurfing World Tour Finals, bring together the top ranked bodysurfers from each regional area (40 men and 20 women), as well as bodysurfers who receive wild cards (8 for men and 4 for women). A total of 48 men and 24 women showcase their skills in this competition.

Trials Event: during the period September – October 2026 and prior to the Main Event.
Special round with 54 competitors (36 men, 18 women) for 12 IBSA Wild Cards assignment (8 men, 4 women).
Main Event: during the period September – October May 2026.
60 qualifiers from regional areas 2025 Qualifying Series + 12 highest finishing competitors from Trials Event

Trials Event participants:
-
First non-qualifiers from each regional area: 4 men and 2 women per area (20 men, 10 women).

The top 4 men and 2 women finishers in the Preliminary Round.
In case of vacancy, places would be awarded in the following order: competitors selected at the discretionary choice of the Finals Organising Committee; the next highest ranked QS French competitor who did not qualify in the Main Event or Trials Event.

Preliminary Round participants (16 men, 8 women):

One competitor from each country that does not have a representative in the Main Event or Trials Event

One competitor from each country of Europe/Africa region who did not qualify in the Main Event or Trials Event

The competitor that has the highest finalist ranking (top 4) and who did not qualify in the Main Event or Trials Event
In case of vacancy, places would be awarded in the following order: competitors selected at the discretionary choice of the Finals Organising Committee; the next highest ranked QS French competitor who did not qualify in the Main Event or Trials Event.

Tie-Break Process
Should there be a tie in points between two or more competitors, the higher position will be awarded to the competitor based upon the following tie-breakers in order:

The highest finishing position from any regional event in that year, followed by second best, third best, fourth best, fifth best, etc until the tie is broken.

The rankings in the previous year.
-
In their regional event where they attained their highest finish, the points difference between the competitor’s score and the score of the lowest finishing competitor that advanced to the next round.

Highest heat score of any regional event.
-
Highest single wave score in any regional event.
