Lehoux and Hegoas dominate in Mehdia’s powerful surf as Moroccan athletes inspire the next generation. Paul Grieumard and Alyssa Sauvy crowned 2025 Euro Bodysurf Tour Champions.

The second stage of the 2025 Euro Bodysurf Tour unfolded on Saturday, November 8, at the iconic beach of Mehdia, in solid 2-meter surf with 11-second periods. The swell rose throughout the day, offering the kind of raw, powerful conditions that make Mehdia one of North Africa’s premier bodysurfing destinations.
Athletes from six nations — France, Morocco, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the USA — competed fiercely, chasing valuable points toward the IBSA Bodysurfing World Tour Final 2026.
Explosive Finals in Heavy Surf
As the swell pulsed and the afternoon tide peaked, the finals took place in clean yet heavy 2-meter waves, demanding precision, timing, and full commitment.
Competitors traded waves in a dramatic series of exchanges, scoring with powerful re-entries, aggressive rollos, and deep barrel-to-foam transitions. Only a few tenths of a point separated the top contenders in both divisions.

Open Men: Lehoux leads a French sweep. Paul Grieumard wins the 2025 Euro Bodysurf Tour
In the Men’s Final, Nathan Lehoux (France) delivered an explosive and perfectly-timed performance to take the win with 11.25 points, narrowly edging Ruben Cambas (10.85 pts) and Paul Grieumard (10.15 pts).
Paul Grieumard was one of the major stories of the event and of the season.
He is the only male athlete to reach the finals in both Anglet and Mehdia, demonstrating remarkable regularity and high-level surfing in all conditions. Thanks to his consistency and strong third place in Mehdia, he secures the overall victory in the 2025 Euro Bodysurf Tour.
Julen Marticorena (France), returning to competition after a hiatus, completed the final with 9.15 pts after a spectacular run through the repechage rounds.

Open Women: Hegoas and Sauvy share the win. Alyssa Sauvy nearly perfect in 2025
The Women’s Final saw Uhaina-Kailani Hegoas and Alyssa Sauvy go head-to-head in powerful overhead surf, both displaying perfect control and fearless commitment.
They shared the top spot with identical scores of 9.6 pts — a rare and impressive result.
With this tie and her victory in Anglet, Alyssa Sauvy completes an almost flawless season, earning the 2025 Euro Bodysurf Tour title thanks to her unmatched consistency.
Ambre Gautier (3.85 pts) and Morocco’s Nour Lemaghsal (3.0 pts) rounded out the final.

Trials Open Men: Moroccan pride as Ali and Salah Eddine Moutassim take 1st and 2nd
Earlier in the day, the highly anticipated Trials Open Men final delivered an emotional all-Moroccan showdown between brothers:
Trials Open Men – Final (Heat 12)
1. Ali Moutassim (Morocco) – 12.00 pts
2. Salah Eddine Moutassim (Morocco) – 7.15 pts
3. Julen Marticorena (France) – 6.75 pts
The Moutassim brothers celebrated together on the beach, a powerful moment for Moroccan bodysurfing. Ali’s victory and Salah Eddine’s strong 2nd place reflect the growing depth of the national scene and inspired the crowd at Mehdia.

Sakina Bargach: The spirit of Moroccan bodysurfing
Among the Moroccan delegation, Sakina Bargach stood out not only for her waves but for her leadership within the community.
A true pioneer, she continues to inspire young Moroccan women to enter the ocean and discover bodysurfing, reinforcing the vibrant growth of the sport in the country.
